Scouting and Hostelling International - Boston

Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of all ages are welcome at the Boston Hostel. Scouting and hostelling have a long history of mutual support. They are similar in their mission to foster experiential learning and exploration of the world, leading to personal growth and ultimately to a more informed citizenry. Girl Scouts even have a hostelling badge to work on during their trip! Boy Scouts can have us set up a multi-hostel trip for them to stay at both urban and rural hostels. Why not take the boys on a week-long visit in February; 4 days in Boston on the Freedom Trail, and the Science Museum and Aquarium; then 3 days skiing in beautiful Conway New Hampshire, all at a discount rate and all arrangements made by the Boston Hostel Group Sales Department. Or a summer time trip to Nantucket or Martha’s Vineyard, with a stop in Boston on the way home to catch a Red Sox game. The possibilities are limitless… let us help you arrange a memorable experience.
Girl Scouts Go Hostelling

Be the next troop to have the HI-Boston Hostelling Experience! Hundreds of Girl Scout troops have learned about hostelling and enjoyed Boston at our hostel. Now, Hostelling International and Girl Scouts of America have launched a new hostelling patch for your troop to work on during your stay. Our Programs and Education Department will help your troop complete the activities (plus any other itinerary plans you would like to make) and at the end of your stay the scouts will have earned the hostelling patch!
Girl Scout ages 11-17 can earn the newly revised Hostelling International Girl Scout© Patch at any U.S. hostel or Council. Created by girls, for girls, the Discover The World patch is fun, interesting and easy to complete! Figuring out how to create a travel budget, learning how to say hello and good-bye in different languages, and even taking part in local volunteer projects are all possible ways to complete the patch. The patch helps girls learn about travel and the hostelling experience. Our hope is that the scouts will take home with them a picture of the world as a smaller and more interconnected place, as well as a greater appreciation of the diversity of its peoples. And, of course, memories of their fun-filled trip to our beautiful city! Check out the patch guidelines by clicking below. Then contact the group sales department to make the arrangements to come to Boston!
